I was walking across the eerily quiet Ag Quad on my way to my 7:30pm class when I realized that. Of course, I knew that I wouldn’t have to crawl inside a tauntaun to survive, haha. (this is so awesome)

When I first came to Ithaca, I was scared of the darkness here. This led to an incredibly surprising package in the mail from Aaron of a gigantic, heavy, ridiculously bright flashlight.  But now, I could walk around at night Han style (Solo. Ok no more Star Wars references. And I guess I’ve used this joke one too many times). Campus at night is a great place to think awesome, sometimes deep thoughts that are almost always lost. Plus, it’s usually empty so it’s totally zen.

I tried to make a snowball, Holden Caufield style.  I was totally feelin’ it, wearin’ my hat, goin’ to school in upstate New York, impulsive, you know.  Well, the snow didn’t really pack. And I don’t think Holden sported a blue houndstooth scarf and bright green mitten/gloves.

On a completely unrelated note, can I just point out that in the past 2 months I have fallen 3 times due to winter-related…events. Albeit it totally wasn’t my fault at the ice rink.  I haven’t fallen this many times since I was seven and would rip brand-spanking-new tights on the first day by tripping, flying, and landing on my face/legs.

BUT. I love winter in Ithaca, despite the mind-numbingly strong winds and the unshoveled walks (a city girl at heart, yo!). Plus, coming back to a glowy and warm apartment doesn’t hurt either.
