I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.

Finally watched Midnight in Paris yesterday on the bus home - SO GOOD! Can’t wait to watch it again with a non-sketchy, DC++ version… I’d love to go back to Paris again.

Little hints to me all week that Christmas is creeping up! I can’t wait to wrap presents. And seriously, J’s… I still have your presents from Christmas/Graduation. But they’re in NYC so I can’t give them to you next week… I GET TO SEE YOU IN ONE WEEK JANELLE! <3

Edith Head’s 1967 book How to Dress for Success, a 180-page guide to the perfect ensemble for every occasion, is back on shelves! We were inspired to apply her thoughtful, twentieth-century advice to the twenty-first-century wardrobe. Visit Vogue.com for our updated guide.
I was just talking to Janelle about how we used to have “Dress for Success” in elementary school! We would have “career day” every month, and all the kids had to dress up in professional clothing (read: first graders in suits). My mom would fret in the winter about how girls have to wear skirts and how the cold weather would make them prone to arthritis when they grow up. Actually I have this conversation with my mom every winter to this day.
Anyway, this looks super useful.
We had to make a music video to teach an economics concept, so we chose to demonstrate fiscal policy to the tune of “Just Dance.”
Of course, we’re getting an A. :)
Haha, would this make econ more enjoyable for you, J?
Dear Maya,
Just saw the moth in the bathtub. Tried to drown it. Did not work.
Dear Janelle,
We just spoke of all the glowsticks i tried so hard to rescue and distribute to patrons of our wildly successful afterparty, but on the way to the bathtub where I saw Maya’s moth, I saw some glowing glowsticks, which are the worst.

Sanaa, Yemen
This photo captures a new mosque in Sanaa that was recently finished. It is built in traditional Yemeni way and is beautiful new addition to the capital. Yemen being the poorest country in the Arab world, has inaugurated this new mosque big enough for 40,000 worshippers in its capital, Sana’a in November 2008. The building is named after the country’s long-serving president, Ali Abdullah Saleh. It cost $60m to build.
Sana, San’a, Sanaa, or Sana’a - capital of Yemen and one of the most facinating in the Arab world with it’s unique architecture, bustling souqs, friendly inhabitants and lack of tourists. Sana’a is one of the ancient Yemen cities dating date back to the Sabean dynasty. The oldest reference to its existence is found in inscriptions dates back to the late the 1st Century AD. The inscriptions also refer to the historical Palace of Ghamdan associated with Salheen Palace in Marib . This suggested that Sana’a was the capital of the Himyrate dynasty at the onset of the 6th century AD when king Yousef Athar Dhu Nawas the last of the Himyarite kings was in power . It was also the capital of the Abyssinian rules and after them the Persians who also made Sana’a their capital.Yemen - New skyline of Sanaa (via © Lucie’s Photography / www.luciedebelkova.com)
