AHHH MUST GO TO THIS DURING FALL BREAK
Midnight (literally—we took this photo at 12am!) tasting of Late Night Snack! Yum yum yummies. I always enjoy the combination of sweet and salty, PLUS fair trade vanilla beans! :)
Waiting for Maya to come back so I can finally eat some Late Night Snack that we bought at Wegmans yesterday! Ready, M? You be Martha and I’ll be Jimmy!

Magical Comestible of the Day: After downing several frothy mugs of butterbeer at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Amy’s thoughts immediately turned to converting the fantastical concoction into a cupcake.
Even if you have no idea what butterbeer is or have never tasted it, you will love these. Essentially, the flavor profile is that of a buttery cream soda cake, filled with butterscotch ganache, topped with a butterscotch buttercream and drizzled with more butterscotch ganache. It sounds kind of intense, but trust me on this. They’re amazing.
Don’t feel like trusting a perfect stranger? Make your own! Trust me, they’re worth it.

Oooh, I plan in trying this recipe out really soon!

The Italian sweet bread, Panettone. My grandma gets one every Christmas. It’s delicious!
Have you ever had Panettone?
Panettone! I don’t know when we started to get Panettone for Christmas dinner, but I love the combination of orange, raisin, and eggy bread. Wonder if I will ever be able to bake it.

The Boozy Baker. The Boozy Baker: 75 Recipes for Spirited Sweets ($13) contains recipes for desserts (cakes, tarts, pies, cookies, etc) with a healthy dose of alcohol. Author, Lucy Baker, does a great job at giving history of the liquors she uses and explaining how the alcohol enhances the flavors of the dessert. The book also includes sidebars throughout with instructions for preparing funky cocktails that add a punchy compliment to many of the recipes.
PUMPKIN GINGERBREAD TRIFLE (by cathydanh)
“It’s a trifle. It’s got all of these layers. First, there is a layer of lady fingers. Then, a layer of jam. Then, custard — which I made from scratch! Then raspberries, more lady fingers, then beef sauteed with peas and onions, more custard, and then bananas, and then I just put some whipped cream on top.”
On another note, the above looks like a combination of Christmas and Fall in one’s mouth! :)

I have this incessant need for tater tots. And brunch.
